The equipment was created to both support and challenge the body’s core musculature. The spring resistance on the equipment assists weak areas of your body and encourages the development of core strength while emphasizing proper joint alignment. Many Pilates exercises are performed lying down on the equipment which can facilitate a gentle progression from non-weight-bearing to full weight-bearing activities. Movements on the equipment are guided by a certified instructor. Flowing movements link together through mindful breathing to challenge your balance, coordination and abdominals. Working on the equipment can not only be therapeutic, it can also be fun and challenging.
The Pilates mat repertoire restores the body to true balance through its principles of concentration, control, centering, precision, flow of movement and breath.
