Catherine Fieldman, PMA-CPT, Owner, Movement Educator
I have always been interested in anatomy and movement, which has manifested itself into my true passion, Pilates and movement. My continued education and work have given me the tools to assess and address the needs and issues with a wide range of clientele. I have given specific attention to understanding and learning about neural pathologies and how to help people who have scoliosis, spinal fusions, and chronic back issues.
I believe that understanding how the brain works in conjunction with how the body functions has often been left out when understanding how the body moves and adapts itself to compensate for changes. I specialize in the specific needs of my clients so I can focus on what the goals of the individual and/or group are. Some of the specific needs include: Chronic pain, preparation for surgeries, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Scoliosis, spinal fusions and other physical restrictions.
I opened my studio so I could be free to better serve the needs of my clients. The gift in this space is that I can offer more individual hours of myself. The studio is set up with all the equipment necessary, including Reformers, Trapeze Table, Ladder Barrel and all the little fabulous gadgets needed to fit the client. I strive in every effort and intention to better myself and knowledge so that I can help my clients.
I am comprehensively certified through BASI and Polestar methods of Pilates. I’ve worked over the years in specialities and am certified in Scoliosis, MS, and the Franklin Method. I work very hard to continue my education and strive to better understand movement, anatomy, and function. I love what I do and I love what I learn. These programs of training allow me to help serve my clients with specific individual needs to continue improving their movement health and well being.
Anna Marchington, PMA-CPT
Anna graduated from The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program in Boulder Colorado in 2006. This is the one of the most respected, comprehensive, and intensive programs of its kind in the world. The program was developed by Amy Alpers and Rachel Segel under the direction of Romana Kryzanowska, heir to Joseph Pilates. Students are taught “classical” Pilates and study every exercise on every piece of equipment in-depth. Students receive detailed instruction on how to teach at all levels of difficulty and for all body types, developing all the skills necessary to be a safe, effective, and inspiring teacher. They are also required to complete 985 hours of instruction and internship.
Anna is also nationally certified by the PMA. The PMA (Pilates Method Alliance) is a not-for-profit professional association dedicated to the teachings of Joseph H. Pilates. Its mission is to protect the public by establishing certification and continuing education standards for Pilates Professionals.
Melissa Delong, PMA-CPT
Melissa was training as a long distance runner and was looking for ways to cross-train as well as prevent injury. She read about Pilates, tried it, and instantly fell in love. After practicing mat and equipment Pilates, Melissa began to notice improvements in her running in endurance, speed, and recovery time. She was hooked and decided to pursue certification.
Melissa has a background in Electrical Engineering , but quickly became fascinated with Anatomy and Functional Movement. She has changed careers so she can follow her passion full time. Her natural problem solving, analytical mind has been a great asset in teaching clients proper alignment and technique.
Pilates encourages a mind body connection through the breath, improves flexibility and range of motion, and leaves the practitioner feeling refreshed. To Melissa, it is more than an exercise technique, it is Body Engineering. Pilates allows Melissa’s true self to shine through and she hopes to pass on a spirit of kindness, gratitude, and wellness to her clients. Melissa is married with three daughters, loves to volunteer at school, and take walks with her dog.
